Holistic Thinking Holidays was founded by Claire Welsh, a paediatric occupational therapist with over 30 years of clinical experience, and her husband Steve. Having spent years supporting families with complex disability needs, Claire saw first-hand how difficult it was for those families to find holiday accommodation that genuinely met their needs rather than simply ticking a wheelchair access box.

Their first property opened at Caister-on-Sea in Norfolk in 2020. Since then, the fleet has grown to ten properties available through SIA Lifestyle, spread across coastal locations in Norfolk, Somerset, Lincolnshire, North Wales, West Sussex, Cornwall, Dorset, and Skegness. Each one is purpose-adapted well beyond the standard of most accessible accommodation, with ceiling track hoists, profiling beds, wet rooms, mobile hoists, and ramp access as standard throughout.

Every property is sited on a family holiday park with accessible facilities, including beaches, pools with hoisting equipment, and fully accessible on-site shops, entertainment, and food outlets. Beach wheelchairs are available for exclusive use of Holistic Thinking Holidays guests at several locations. Up to two pets are welcome at no extra charge.

By the end of 2024, Holistic Thinking Holidays had provided more than 1,000 accessible family holidays, more than 120 of which were offered free in partnership with charities and families with higher care needs.

Holistic Thinking Holidays offer a full cancellation refund right up to the day of your holiday, with no insurance required.
