Description
For healthcare professionals recommending home adaptations, grab rails are often one of the most straightforward interventions, but the resistance to fitting them is real and well documented. People decline them because they don’t want their home to look clinical. Vivette exists to address exactly that.
Both rails in the Vivette range are handcrafted in the UK from solid timber, weight tested to 160kg, and designed alongside occupational therapists for real-world use. The fixings are concealed, the finish is furniture-grade, and the overall effect is a rail that looks like it was chosen for the house rather than prescribed for the person.
The Everyday Grab Rail (Compact) is 450mm long and suits spaces where a full-length rail would feel too prominent, hallways, entrance steps, beside a bath, or anywhere a lighter touch is appropriate.
The Resilience Grab Rail (Full Length) is 600mm, the standard length specified by Building Regulations, and is suitable for bathrooms, wetrooms, entrances, and commercial and hospitality spaces where compliance is required.
Both are available in Natural Oak, finished in satin yacht varnish and suited to moderate moisture environments, and Iroko, finished in Osmo oil and suited to wetrooms and spaces with prolonged water contact.
For clients who have previously refused standard grab rails, or who live in a home where aesthetics matter to them, these are worth knowing about. The 30-day return policy on unfitted pieces also means there is no commitment risk in recommending them before a full assessment visit.
